Learning Lessons From the Floods of 2007
Sir Michael Pitt called for fundamental changes in the way Britain adapts to the increased chances of flooding following last year's storms. The floods led to around 165,000 home insurance claims and there are lessons to be learned both for the Government and for homeowners. In his independent review, Mr Pitt suggested a cabinet committee be established that is dedicated to tackling the risks of flooding.
